Markandeya Hill that is situated in proximity to the Vokkaleri Village in Kolar District of Karnataka State. This is a Hill Temple Of Markandeya God. This hill is about 75 Km Fom Bangalore.

This site has been named after Sage Markandeya. According to local belief, this place had been used by Markandeya for performing tapas. Upon reaching Markandeya Hill, tourists would get the chance to see a temple and reservoir that have been labelled with a similar name.

This was used as a peaceful place by Lord Markandeya for his tapas. This temple is a testimony of the story when Yama came to take Markandeya’s Soul. We can see the Yama pasha marks inside the temple.
